​Scores are considered current for about 6 years and it is not necessary to retake once completed during that time. A copy of your latest scores is acceptable for applications.

We require a minimum Level 4 for all programs except Surveyor.
Surveyor requires a minimum Level 5.
​Complete the required WorkKeys assessment tests at your local Job Center and be prepared to complete an application when the next announcement period opens.  Testing is on a schedule only basis at most Job Centers. We recommend that you complete your testing now. The Job Centers also offer FREE Resume Writing and Interviewing Strategies workshops.
U.S. Military Veterans and Reservists may qualify for Benefits through the Montgomery and Post 9/11 GI Bill program as a registered apprentice. 
However, it is important to understand that those benefits DO NOT go into effect until you have been dispatch as an apprentice for work to On the Job Training (OJT) with the employer. The VA refers to "training" as OJT, NOT 
pre-training provided by the Sponsor (ATESTT). Example: The 14 week training for Construction Driver before an apprentice is sent to work. This "training" is not a covered benefit. The terminology for training can often be confusing.
Once an apprentice is dispatched to work (OJT) the benefits are paid based on the OJT hours worked. The Apprenticeship Coordinator reports your monthly hours to the VA on your behalf.
The process for applying for benefits will be explained and conducted in detail during apprenticeship orientation.
Alaska Works Partnership provides a variety of Apprenticeship Outreach Services to Alaskans to gain entry into Alaska's Construction Trades Apprenticeship Programs.

Apprenticeship Outreach can provide:

◦Assistance gathering documents 
◦Interview skills
◦Referral to community resource agencies
